  • BREAKING: North Carolina Superstar Parker Wolfe Ends Collegiate Career Early Due to Foot Injury

Earlier today, North Carolina superstar Parker Wolfe announced that he is ending his 2025 NCAA outdoor track season early after dealing with a foot injury that, "won't cooperate," per an Instagram post. He is no longer expected to toe the line for the 5000 meters at the NCAA East Regional Championships, the only event that he was entered in for this weekend. It should be noted that Wolfe also dealt with an injury during the winter months which limited his racing on the indoor oval. In March, the UNC ace settled for a still-solid 6th place over 3000 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships despite entering the season as a national title contender. He also finished runner-up as a member of North Carolina's DMR lineup. Wolfe ends his collegiate career as one of the best long distance stars of this era despite having "only" one national title. That lone NCAA title victory came at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships where he upset Northern Arizona's Nico Young over 5000 meters. Wolfe ends his time in Chapel Hill with a grand total of 11 All-American honors between all three seasons of competition (including relays). During his time on the East Coast, the Colorado native acted as the focal star of UNC's program at the beginning of Coach Chris Miltenberg's tenure with the Tar Heels. On the grass, Wolfe led his team to four national meet finishes inside the top-20, three of which were in the top-10. Wolfe will walk away from the NCAA with personal best times of 3:34 (1500), 3:54 (mile), 7:30 (3k) and 13:10.75 (5k), with his best 5k time during a college track season being 13:13. The UNC ace sits at NCAA #8 all-time over 1500 meters, NCAA #2 all-time over 3000 meters and NCAA #11 all-time over 5000 meters (outdoor).
