Additional contributions by Garrett Zatlin
1. John Carroll Blue Streaks
Alex Phillip, assuming he runs the DMR, has a short amount of rest after the 5000 meters, which may affect his anchor leg, but the first three legs will likely give him some sort of lead to work with.
2. Williams Ephs
If Nate Lentz and Jinwoo Kang can put together solid 1200 meter and 800 meter legs that keep the Ephs within 40 meters of the lead, the Aidan Ryan has the ability to hunt down pretty much anyone.
3. Loras Duhawks
This relay may doesn't really have any weaknesses, and in most years, they would come in as the favorites thanks to how much raw speed they have.
4. RPI Engineers
With standout runner Matthew Lecky opting to scratch the mile and focus on 3k/DMR double, this RPI relay will have the advantage of being one of the few teams in the field where all four legs are running completely fresh.
5. Washington U. Bears
There are multiple All-Americans on this DMR and Jacob Ridderhoff's scratch from the mile suggests that the Bears are going all-in with one of the more accomplished lineups in this field.
6. SUNY Geneseo Knights
This relay is loaded with talent, but it should be taken into account that their 1600, 1200 and 800 legs will all be running individual events earlier in the day, including Nick Andrews in the 5000 meters just an hour before.
7. Wartburg Knights
They don't seem like title contenders on paper, but you can never count out an established program like Wartburg that is always nationally competitive regardless of the year.
8. Trinity (CT) Bantams
This is a solid group that will likely be very close to an All-American spot depending on how well Travis Martin can bounce back from the 800 meter prelims.
9. WPI Engineers
It looks as though all the legs on this DMR are peaking at the right time, and it's certainly possible that they surprise some people given the momentum they have coming into this weekend.
10. Central College Dutch
They could struggle to hang on to some of the top teams, but they have more than earned the right to be here and with so many top names doubling, you never know what could happen.
11. Hope Flying Dutch
All four legs will be coming into this relay fresh, including 1500 meter All-American Nicholas Hoffman, and you have to think that the Flying Dutch will benefit from that freshness.
12. Mount Union Purple Raiders
There isn't necessarily a singular standout star on this relay, but this lineup has four very solid athletes who didn't just run 10:00 by accident.
Final Predictions:
Williams Ephs
RPI Engineers
John Carroll Blue Streaks
Loras Duhawks
Washington U. Bears
