Let's Give This a Shot: Introducing The Stride Report's New High School Signings Page!

Many years ago, when The Stride Report was just a fledgling platform fueled by passion and post-graduate naivety, I attempted to put together a page on our website simply titled, "RECRUITS."
The purpose of that page was exactly what it sounded like -- to display which high school athletes were committed to (and had signed with) certain colleges and universities.
Of course, there's a reason why that project quickly fizzled into the infinite ocean that is The Stride Report's content offerings. Put simply, it was impossible for just one person to keep up with ALL of the notable high school signings and recruits from around the country.
So here we are, seven years later, armed with greater technology and a "What the hell, let's give it a shot,"-type attitude.
Introducing, The Stride Report's "HIGH SCHOOL SIGNINGS" page.
On that page -- which you can also find under our RECRUITING tab -- you'll find a dataset featuring a handful of top high school distance athletes from the Class of 2026 who have already made their college commitments (or, at this point in the year, have already signed with their new homes).
Not only that, but we have added features that allow our readers to search through that dataset by last name or by university name. Over the long-term, that ease of navigation should prove helpful, ultimately making this a go-to page for all of your future research.
We have aspirations for this page that go well beyond what it is right now -- we're hoping to include more features in the future so that the page can be a multi-faceted dataset meant to inform, entertain and better scout future prospects.
Naturally, I'm sure some of you are wondering, "So what makes this project any different than the project you tried seven years ago? What is going to stop this still-demanding dataset from fizzling out yet again?"
Truthfully, those are fair questions. In fact, it's plenty possible that history repeats itself and The Stride Report struggles to keep up with the demands that our newly constructed page requires and page is eventually removed -- that's a real possibility.
This time, however, there are a few different factors at play.
For starters, The Stride Report is more sustainable and stable in terms of content output right now -- we have more writers (each of whom are incredibly talented and hard working) than we did seven years ago, making rigorous projects such as this more reasonable to maintain.
But maybe more importantly, we have also constructed a separate page which features a short form! This is a page that our community can use to update the dataset for any middle or long distance names that we have missed.
And don't worry, all of these submissions are double checked by The Stride Report before they get published to our dataset. When submitting a new name, we also require a URL which proves and/or verifies that a certain high school athlete has actually signed to the college or university in question.
In the meantime, we will be hard at work updating the dataset as much as we can for the Class of 2026 -- while also producing great content for upcoming meets -- and soon preparing for the Class of 2027! So make sure to check back on our newest page over the next few months and stay tuned for more!
