Earlier today, the Mid-American Conference announced that they will be delaying the start of competition for "fall Olympic Sports", which includes cross country, until September 3rd.
The Mid-American Conference joins the West Coast Conference (WCC) and the Horizon League as conferences that have announced delays in the start to fall competition today. The BIG East also made an announcement earlier today that they will eliminate non-conference competition for fall sports this year.
The Mid-American Conference captured headlines earlier this year when Akron's men's cross country team was cut by the university and when Central Michigan's men's track and field program was also eliminated.
