- BREAKING: Katrina Robinson to Leave Arkansas
Earlier today, distance standout Katrina Robinson announced that she will be leaving the University of Arkansas and returning to Australia to continue her running career. The 2018 South Central region cross country champion, who also finished 8th at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational in the same year, has not competed collegiately since the 2018 NCAA XC Championships where she finished 41st. Robinson has been dealing with numerous injuries during her time with the Razorbacks, requiring up to 10 MRIs as of late December. Robinson has three unused seasons of collegiate eligibility left for cross country and all four seasons of eligibility left for indoor track and outdoor track.
- BREAKING: Sam Worley Sustains Tibial Fracture
Earlier today, Texas distance star Sam Worley announced via Instagram that he has fractured his tibia after taking a fall during his mile race at the Husky Classic. Worley's announcement was accompanied by a video of him on crutches. It is unclear how long Worley will be out of competition, although one can easily assume that he will be unavailable for the rest of this indoor track season and very likely the entirety of the upcoming outdoor track season. Worley's expected absence will remove an All-American favorite out of the national picture both this winter and (most likely) the upcoming spring season. While his recovery timeline is still unclear, there may be potential for him to return in the fall of 2020 where Worley can complete his senior season of cross country. However, without understanding the full magnitude of his fracture, it is difficult to know when Worley will be available for competition. Disclaimer: The Stride Report does not have any information regarding Sam Worley's injury outside of what has been announced publicly. Any additional comments from TSR surrounding Worley's recovery, timeline or the extent of his injury is purely speculation.
