Rust Buster: Next Steps For The Summer

This time last year, I had shut down The Stride Report.

I fully expected to focus on the rest of my career in finance, work the typical 9 to 5 and just move on as a normal citizen of the world.

That plan, of course, changed dramatically just six months later.

Reviving The Stride Report, thanks to the unparalleled faith of Streamline Athletes, has been successful so far! Our growth has been fairly promising and despite a few hiccups that we're working to clean up, I like to think that our comeback campaign went off without a hitch.

It's only been six-ish months since Streamline Athletes acquired The Stride Report, but they have been fully invested in our product and our people since day one. They have wildly exceeded my expectations as business partners.

But make no mistake, these first six months of our return is far from our full potential. Much like the first week of September during the cross country season, this is only the start of something significantly more impactful and exciting.

Simply put, this was just a rust-buster.

Thanks to Streamline Athletes, we now have a backing to make this website not only more sustainable, but also far more expansive in terms of our content offerings.

A lot of our plans are still in the works and it will take some time before we get to that point (think later this year). But we're ready to go all-in on this budding project that has much more promise than some people may realize.

As for the summer, buckle up. It's going to be awesome.

We're sitting on a TON of transfer news right now -- some of which is public, some of which is not. In fact, you can basically expect most of the content this week to be focused on transfer headlines and information.

As we move into late July, we'll be aiming to post our preseason individual rankings for all three divisions (D1, D2 and D3). We'll also move into our preseason team rankings throughout August and likely the early portion of September.

This means that for the next month or so, our TSR contributors are going to be reaching out to anyone and everyone to try and figure out eligibility situations. TFRRS is a good guide, but it isn't always 100% accurate, especially with the pandemic ultimately giving collegiate athletes another year of eligibility.

This is where you can help!

If you were listed as a senior last fall on TFRRS, but do in fact have extra eligibility, we would love to know!

If you were listed as anything but a senior on TFRRS last fall, but won't be racing this fall, we'd also like to know!

And if you're transferring to a new program, feel free to shoot us an email as well. Just let us know if you're a regular transfer or a graduate transfer and what seasons of eligibility you have remaining. While we can't always make a post on our social channels, we can surely update our TRANSFERS page.

If you're a coach who just wants to make sure that we've got the right info, you're more than welcome to reach out as well.

Feel free to shoot us an email at contact@thestridereport.com for any and all updates about the scenarios listed above.

Will there be the occasional Saturday or Sunday where we don't post content? Sure, that's going to happen in the summer months as there is only so much to talk about. But for the most part, you can continue to expect the same steady stream of articles and news that you saw in past summer months and earlier this year.

Welp, that's all I've got for today.

But starting tomorrow, we're going to come out swinging.

Stay tuned...
