NEWS: Robert Morris University Adds Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Program

Last week, Robert Morris University announced the return of its' Division One men’s outdoor track and field program. The reintroduction of their men's team will officially begin at the start of the upcoming academic calendar year (with competition taking place in the spring of 2027).
It has been 12 years since men’s outdoor track and field was last sponsored by Robert Morris University. The returning track and field program is set to compete in the Horizon League Championships under Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, Bryan Delsite.
It should also be noted that RMU's men's cross country program was reintroduced by the university in 2020, the same year that Delsite was introduced as the Director. The Colonials' lead distance coach, Juris Silenieks, has been with the program since the fall of 2022 following the departure of former distance coach, Billy Caldwell (who is now at Richmond).
Regarding the decision to bring back men's outdoor track and field, Coach Bryan Delsite stated the following in a university press release...
“The return of men’s track and field is a tremendous moment for our university, our alumni and the entire track and field community. We’re incredibly excited to once again provide opportunities for young men to compete, grow and represent RMU with pride.”
At the 2025 Horizon League XC Championships, the men’s cross country program took 8th place in the team standings. They were led by senior Tyler Paszkowski who finished in 13th place as an individual.
Over the last few years, the Colonials have consistently found themselves finishing between 13th place to 18th place at the Mid-Atlantic Regional XC Championships. In 2025, the men’s cross country team took 16th place out of 28 teams at their regional meet.
The Horizon League includes schools such as Cleveland State, Northern Illinois (non-football), Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky, Green Bay, Wright State, Youngstown State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Milwaukee, Indiana University-Indianapolis and Oakland.
