NEWS: D2 Megastar Lindsay Cunningham Not Listed in NCAA Championship Entries

Upon the release of entries for the 2024 NCAA D2 Indoor Championships, Winona State superstar Lindsay Cunningham was noticeably absent from the national meet performance list. The aerobic-centric standout was expected to contest the 5000 meters and the 3000 meters next weekend in Pittsburg, Kansas. It is unclear why Cunningham is not listed in the entries.

Over the last few months, Cunningham was having a strong and respectable indoor track season. However, it was also fair to suggest that the D2 veteran wasn't in top form, initially being upset by teammate Kylee Beyer over 3000 meters and later falling behind D2 rival Brianna Robles over 5000 meters at Boston U.

Cunningham is one of the greatest long distance runners in Division Two history. In total, the Winona State ace has (currently) collected nine All-American honors, four of which were national title victories across all three seasons of competition.

Cunningham, who has been known for her aggressive front-running approach, has also produced some of the fastest performances ever seen in Division Two history. The current Warrior star has run times of 9:10 (3k), 15:41 (5k) and 32:43 (10k). The former mark currently sits at NCAA #7 (D2) all-time while her 5k PR is the NCAA D2 indoor record. On the outdoor oval, Cunningham sits at NCAA #8 (D2) all-time over 5000 meters and at NCAA #3 (D2) all-time over 10,000 meters.

Back in late November, it was announced that Lindsay Cunningham would be joining the Wisconsin women in the fall of 2024 as a graduate transfer. By teaming up with a number of key Badger returners and taking advantage of a Michigan State team that loses numerous women, this Madison-based distance program could be positioned to win the BIG 10 cross country team title in October with Cunningham providing valuable low-stick firepower.
