The Stride Report has learned that Andrew Kibet (formerly of Hutchinson CC) will be finishing the rest of his athletic eligibility at Arkansas as a JUCO transfer. According to TFRRS, he will have two seasons of cross country eligibility remaining as well as three seasons of indoor track eligibility and three seasons of outdoor track eligibility.

Kibet was one of the top distance talents in the NJCAA over the past two years. The future Razorback owns strong personal bests of 1:51 (800), 2:24 (1k), 3:47 (1500), 4:04 (mile) and 14:42 (5k). He was also a three-time NJCAA national champion while at Hutchinson CC -- once in cross country (2018) and twice on the indoor oval (1k and mile in 2020).

The Arkansas men -- who actually announced the transfer back in January -- have added yet another strong runner to their distance group for the fall of 2020. Kibet will join incoming transfers Luke Meade, Jacob McLeod, Amon Kemboi and Emmanuel Cheboson in Fayetteville later this year.

Kibet will provide Coach Bucknam's squad with valuable depth for the upcoming cross country season. His expertise as a middle distance specialist will also come in handy on the track for events like the 800 meters, 1000 meters and mile.
