UPDATE: University of Oregon's Hayward Field Cleared of Danger Following Bomb Threat

UPDATE (7:16pm EST)


Following a bomb threat that was made at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field, the school has announced that the area has been cleared of any danger.


"The search found nothing of concern and normal activities can resume," per University of Oregon's Division of Safety and Risk Services. The following information was sent out to media members via email from Marcus Thatcher, the NCAA's Associate Director for Media Coordination and Statistics...


"Local law enforcement has given the all clear for Hayward Field. Hayward will remain closed for the day for practice. Those needing to retrieve personal items left in the venue will be allowed to do so from 4:30-5:30pm. We will be adding a revised morning practice schedule and will communicate those updates shortly."

On Tuesday afternoon, the University of Oregon's Division of Safety and Risk Services issued an alert for an individuals to evacuate and avoid Hayward Field, as well as the surrounding area, due to a bomb threat.


In the update, the university explained that, "UOPD is on site investigating, which is expected to take several hours."



The University of Oregon is scheduled to host the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Feld Championships at Hayward Field starting Wednesday. The meet is scheduled to conclude on Saturday evening.
