The Stride Report has been able to confirm that Ben Hill (formerly of Michigan) will be finishing the rest of his athletic eligibility at Wake Forest next year. According to TFRRS, Hill has only one season of outdoor track eligibility remaining.
Hill was an outstanding miler during his time in Ann Arbor, running personal bests of 4:01 (mile) and 3:44 (1500) along with a PR of 1:50 for 800 meters. At Wake Forest, Hill will team up with rising star Zach Facioni who ran a flat-track converted 3:58.58 mile time this past indoor track season.
The addition of Hill to the Demon Deacons' roster could potentially create some flexibility at the ACC Championships next spring if the coaching staff believes that Facioni is better suited for an event like the 5k instead of the 1500 meters.
Yet, maybe more importantly, Hill will bring veteran experience to a promising team that is still relatively young. Nearly all of Wake Forest's middle distance group from this past indoor track season were underclassmen.
