Earlier today, The Stride Report confirmed that Yale's Allen Siegler will finish the rest of his indoor and outdoor track eligibility at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) as a graduate student. The news comes on the heels of Princeton's Conor Lundy also making a move out of the Ivy League and to UNC.
Siegler has been one of the more underappreciated Ivy League talents of the past year. The former Yale runner recently finished 2nd at the IC4A Championships with a new mile PR of 4:02. Siegler also owns personal bests of 3:45 for 1500 meters (which he ran last spring) and 2:23 for 1000 meters (which he ran this past winter).
With both Lundy and Siegler soon donning the pale blue and white, new coach Chris Miltenberg has made a clear effort to bring in top veteran talents that can immediately bolster the status of his UNC program, even if it's only for a year.
