ANNOUNCED: Mid-American Conference "Postpones" Fall Sports

Earlier today, the Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced that they will be "postponing" all scheduled fall sports for the upcoming semester. The conference intends to move these sports to the spring semester of 2021.

According to the Mid-American Conference, the decision stems from ongoing concerns surrounding the Coronavirus.

The decision also likely stems from Power Five universities pulling out or reducing non-conference play for the 2020 football season. Schools in the Mid-American Conference were expected to receive a combined total of $10.5 million from those games according to Brett McMurphy of Stadium.com.

The MAC joins the Ivy League, Patriot League, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, BIG West and numerous others that are not expected to compete in fall athletics during the upcoming semester.
