GRAD TRANSFER: Amanda Beach to Finish Eligibility at Florida State Next Fall

Yesterday, Florida State announced that Amanda Beach, who currently attends Duke, will be joining the Seminoles next fall as a graduate transfer. At the moment, Beach has eligibility remaining in all three seasons of competition.

Beach has been an underrated distance talent during her time with the Duke Blue Devils. The soon-to-be FSU runner owns respectable personal bests of 16:32 (5k) and 34:54 (10k). Both marks came from the 2018 outdoor track season.

This past fall, Beach put together what was arguably the best cross country season of her career. She won the Panorama Farms Invitational over fellow teammates Michaela Reinhart and Samantha Schadler in a time of 16:53. She later finished 26th at the ACC Championships, a result that would have been good enough to be FSU's fourth scorer that day.

Beach's eventual (and expected) departure from the Duke program comes just one month after it was announced that Princeton's Melia Chittenden would be joining the Blue Devils in the fall of 2021 as a graduate transfer.

While it is not yet clear which senior members of Florida State's roster will be returning next fall, the eventual return of Lauren Ryan as well as the introduction of Amanda Beach could provide the Seminoles with additional scoring options and improve their position in the NCAA's hierarchy of top teams.
