Earlier this month, The Stride Report was informed that Robert Brandt would be exploring graduate transfer options and that Georgetown was a potential candidate to land the UCLA star. Today, DyeStat confirmed with Brandt that he will be pursuing a Masters degree at Georgetown next year.
The former Bruin will have indoor and outdoor eligibility left in 2021, but no additional cross country eligibility.
After a brief stint at Cal where he ran 13:45 (5k) and 28:48 (10k), the Los Angeles, California native moved closer to home by transferring to UCLA. There, Brandt posted personal bests of 7:50 (3k) and 13:36 (5k) while earning four All-American finishes on the track.
Despite never finishing inside the top 40 at the NCAA XC Championships, Brandt was a top low-stick for the Bruins throughout in the two seasons that he spent with them. An injury sidelined him for postseason competition this past fall.
Brandt will join former PAC-12 rival Matthew Rizzo who is also transferring to Georgetown starting next fall after spending one year with the Stanford Cardinal.
