Earlier this week, the University of Wisconsin announced that Canadian superstar Brogan MacDougall will transfer into the program. The Ontario native boasts personal bests of 9:08 (3k) and 16:06 (5k) from her time at Queens University.
MacDougall's transfer comes in the wake of Queens head coach Steve Boyd being fired by the university. In an interview with Athletics Illustrated, MacDougall discussed the rising tensions and struggles that formed between the Queens athletic administration and track and field team.
MacDougall's introduction to the Wisconsin cross country program couldn't have come at a better time. The Badgers are losing star veterans Alicia Monson and Amy Davis next fall and will be in need of significant firepower.
Luckily for the Wisconsin women, MacDougall has the potential to offer similar scoring potency and act as a true low-stick for the Badgers.
