Yesterday, Georgetown announced that Julie Culley, the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country for the Hoyas, has resigned. Culley had led the Georgetown program for the past four years after serving as an assistant coach for two years prior.
The media release also states that Culley will be pursuing a "new career" following her resignation.
Culley's resignation from a historically great track and field and cross country program leaves the door open for a potential hiring frenzy among college coaches similar to that of 2018 and 2019 (if Georgetown opts to hire Culley's replacement from outside of the program).
Internally, assistant coach Brandon Bonsey is already listed as the men's head cross country coach for the Hoyas. He led the Georgetown men to the NCAA XC Championships as a team last fall. Should Georgetown hire internally, they may choose to promote Bonsey to the Director role given his background which is similar to that of Culley.
