SIGNED: Texas Lands 1:46 Runner Yusuf Bizimana, Washington Adds 4:00 Miler Brian Fay For Next Fall

Earlier today, Texas announced that they have signed top middle distance standout Yusuf Bizimana from London, England. The true freshman will be joining the Longhorns in January of this year.

Bizimana has been an absolute star in the 800 meters, owning a personal best of 1:46.93 for the distance which he ran this past September. The soon-to-be Texas runner also owns personal bests of 3:48 (1500) and 8:20 (3k) from the summer of 2019.

Texas is now adding a top-tier middle distance runner to their roster who could take advantage of an admittedly thin season in the NCAA men's indoor 800 meters this winter. Bizimana could also play a key role in helping the Longhorns put together a top-ranked DMR when paired with current Texas athletes like 3:59 miler Crayton Carrozza and long-time veteran Sam Worley (depending on his health).

The Washington Huskies have announced that they are adding Irish distance ace Brian Fay to their roster starting in the fall of 2021. He will be transferring from Dublin City University, although it is unclear how much eligibility he will have when he comes to Seattle.

Fay has been an up-and-coming multi-faceted distance talent in Ireland for a few years. His premiere event is (debatably) the mile where he owns a personal best of 4:00.45. He also owns a strong 3k personal best of 8:09.

With a 5k personal best of 13:51, a 10k personal best of 28:41, a steeplechase personal best of 8:45 and extensive national championship experience in cross country, Fay has the potential to be one of the better all-around distance talents on an already-loaded Washington roster when he joins the team next fall.
