GRAD TRANSFER: JP Trojan to Finish Eligibility at Syracuse

Yesterday, Syracuse announced that William & Mary's JP Trojan will be joining the Orange as a graduate transfer starting next year. In regards to eligibility, Trojan will have one season of cross country remaining, one season of indoor track remaining, and two seasons of outdoor track remaining.

Trojan has quietly been one of the more underrated distance runners on the east coast over the past year. The former William & Mary runner will venture north with personal bests of 8:03 (3k), 13:48 (5k) and 29:50 (10k).

Trojan was the winner of the Penn State Cross Country National Open last fall and earned a pair of wins in the 3000 meters and 5000 meters at the IC4A Indoor Championships this past winter (which were both personal bests).

The incoming distance standout will likely give the Syracuse men a significant scoring boost when it comes to cross country. Last year's Syracuse team was without Aidan Tooker for most of the year, but they still went on to win the ACC title over Notre Dame, avenging their runner-up finish from 2018.

The Orange will be returning a heavy portion of last year's lineup, are expected to bring back a healthy Aidan Tooker, and will now add a consistent veteran to their team who was in the midst of a breakout year.

With this new addition, the Syracuse men could be a formidable opponent (yet again) this fall.
