Yesterday, The Stride Report confirmed that Yale's Jane Miller will be finishing the rest of her athletic eligibility as a graduate transfer at Arizona State next year. She will have only one season of outdoor track remaining.
The former Yale Bulldog joins a plethora of Ivy League runners who are unable to use their extended spring eligibility (which was granted by the NCAA) due to a long-standing conference rule. The ruling disallows Ivy League student-athletes to compete in the conference for more than four years.
Miller played a key role on an underrated Yale cross country team this past fall. She finished 7th at the 2019 Ivy League XC Championships (First Team All-Ivy Honors) and then 21st at the Northeast Regional Championships (All-Region Honors). She would later go on to run a personal best of 16:32 (5k) at the Ivy League Indoor Track & Field Championships where she finished 3rd overall.
Miller will be joining former Dartmouth runner and fellow Ivy Leaguer Henry Raymond at Arizona State next year.
