GRAD TRANSFER: Calahan Warren to Finish Eligibility at Western Washington

Earlier this month, The Stride Report received a tip that Calahan Warren was expected to sign with Western Washington University as a graduate transfer. This week, The Stride Report was able to confirm the move. Warren will have only outdoor track eligibility remaining.

Two weeks ago, news broke that Washington's 4:02 miler Nate Beamer was also joining the Western Washington program next year. Warren -- who was one of the best distance running talents in Division Two during his time with Embry-Riddle -- will provide the Vikings of WWU with a strong 1-2 punch when paired next to Beamer.

Warren owns personal bests of 1:50.71 (800), 3:47 (1500), 4:03 (mile) and 8:08 (3k). Between cross country and track, Warren has qualified for five D2 national meets throughout his career (including the 2020 Indoor National Championships which were ultimately cancelled).

The Western Washington track and field team will now boast two of the best milers in D2 come 2021. Both Warren and Beamer could realistically challenge for the 1500 meter national title next spring.
