BREAKING: NCAA 10k Champion Dylan Jacobs Enters Transfer Portal As Graduate Transfer

Earlier today, The Stride Report received notice that Notre Dame's Dylan Jacobs has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. TSR later confirmed the tip.

Jacobs is expected to have two seasons of cross country eligibility remaining, as well as one season of indoor track and one season of outdoor track eligibility remaining.

Seeing Jacobs enter the transfer portal is hardly a surprise. On Saturday, Tennessee announced that Notre Dame's men's distance coach, Sean Carlson, would be taking over the Volunteers' men's and women's distance programs as the Director of XC.

Carlson recruited Jacobs out of high school when the Indiana native was at the peak of his prep-running powers. Jacobs earned numerous All-American honors on the grass and even secured the 2017 Foot Locker cross country national title.

Since coming to Notre Dame, Jacobs has garnered an endless amount of accolades. On the track, he has run times of 3:57 (mile), 7:49 (3k), 13:14 (indoor 5k) and 28:01 (10k).

Of course, his greatest accomplishment is barely a week old.

I am, of course, talking about Jacobs' recent 10k national title victory at the NCAA Outdoor Championships where he ran 28:12 to out-kick Alex Maier and heavy favorite Abdi Nur for the win.

In total, Jacobs has amassed five All-American honors between cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. That total includes his national title victories in the DMR and the 10k. On the grass, his highest finish at the NCAA XC Championships is 10th place.

Numerous sources have informed The Stride Report that plenty of headlines could be coming from Knoxville, Tennessee in the coming weeks following the Volunteers' mass coaching overhaul. And while The Stride Report has no direct knowledge that Jacobs will be choosing the Volunteers, all signs point to the ACC superstar potentially transitioning to the SEC.

Earlier this week, Tennessee's Sydney Seymour announced that she was going to be finishing her eligibility at NC State as a graduate transfer.
