BREAKING: Hannah Steelman Transfers to NC State

Earlier this week, The Stride Report learned that Hannah Steelman had entered the transfer portal and was likely signing with NC State. Today, Steelman confirmed those suspicions by announcing that she will be leaving Wofford and transferring to NC State.

Steelman's introduction to the Wolfpack is a massive move that could potentially put the NC State women into the national title conversation more than they already were. The ladies of North Carolina State will not have top scorer Elly Henes on their squad next fall since she is out of eligibility. However, the team is still expected to return the rest of their National Championship lineup which placed 5th at NCAA's this past fall.

The former Wofford Terrier will enter NC State with eligibility in all three seasons. Steelman will also be teaming up with a legendary recruiting class which features high school superstars Katelyn Tuohy and Marlee Starliper (among others).

Steelman finished in 23rd place overall at last year's NCAA XC Championships and was an All-American in both the steeplechase and the 5000 meters at the 2019 Outdoor National Championships. Steelman was also an All-American in the 3000 meters at the 2019 Indoor National Championships.

With personal bests of 9:07 (3k), 15:52 (5k) and 9:46 (3k steeplechase), Steelman will give the Wolfpack a healthy dose of scoring potency.
