BREAKING: Amon Kemboi Transfers to Arkansas

Earlier today, multiple sources informed The Stride Report that Amon Kemboi will be leaving Campbell University and transferring to the University of Arkansas. During his time at Campbell, Kemboi secured personal bests of 3:39 (1500), 3:59 (mile), 7:44 (3000), 13:33 (5000), and 28:55 (10,000). His 3000 meter PR of 7:44 currently sits at #9 all-time in the NCAA indoor record books.

Kemboi also earned a pair of top 10 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships. He finished 7th in 2018 and most recently placed 8th in 2019.

Kemboi was the unnamed "elite distance runner" that The Stride Report first reported on back in early December. At the time, other candidates in the running to land Amon Kemboi were Iowa State, Alabama, and Oklahoma State.

The newest Razorback will now join an Arkansas team that is expected to bring back SEC champion Gilbert Boit for the 2020 cross country season. In doing so, Coach Bucknam's squad will have two of the best low-sticks in the NCAA.
